The early 1900s saw the birth of Eola Texas, a small town near the western border of the state. During the boom years of the Texas Oil Boom, settlers from central and eastern Europe flocked to the area. In 1920, the town included more than 100 Czech families. Originally named Jordan, Texas, the town was renamed Eola in 1903. The town derived its name from Aeolus Creek, which flows through the town. By 1902, a store was built and the town had a population of four families. By the 1940s, the population had grown to more than 230. By the end of that decade, the town had a schoolhouse with nine teachers and was the largest town in Concho County.

Today, Eola is an unincorporated community in Concho County, Texas. It is situated thirteen miles south of Paint Rock and has been a post office since 1901. The town was originally known as Jordan, but was renamed in 1902. The town got its name from the creek that flows through it. The creek was named after the Greek god of the winds, Aeolus. The town had a public school in the town from 1928 until 1983. After that, it was purchased by James Mark Cannon from Portland and turned into a seven day restaurant.

The population of Eola is about 300 people. It is located 18 miles east of San Angelo. Its residents are mostly farmers and ranchers. Eola is home to a handful of businesses, including a restaurant. The city has only one restaurant, and it is owned by Mr. Smith.

The Eola School is a historic building that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was built in an era when the economic climate was bleak. The building was constructed in 1928 and features an auditorium and classrooms. In 1939, it received an addition by the WPA. It has two concrete water tanks and a limestone wall around it. Today, it houses the Eola School Restaurant and Brewery.
